Regional Event

Rationale

This one-day event, organised by the Welsh Government, International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) and Cardiff Metropolitan University will be structured so that policy makers, practitioners and researchers within Wales and from other countries can meet to share experiences, knowledge, and expertise. The aim of the event is to explore how to re-purpose education so that equitable educational outcomes and experiences are available for all children and young people whatever their situation or context. The programme will support collaborative dialogue, connection, and networking both within and across systems.

Audience and participation

As an invitational event, participants will not have to pay to attend the conference but will have to cover travel, accommodation, and any incidental costs. Participants who are invited to present will be asked to submit a short summary/abstract for consideration by the conference team. All participants will need to register for the event through Eventbrite.

Programme

Within this event there will be a variety of ways of engaging. There will be keynote addresses, parallel sessions, poster sessions plus a policy forum at the end of the conference.

Dissemination

Following the conference there will be an online dissemination pack that will be open access. This will include video material, papers, posters and information about ICSEI membership and its annual congress. A dedicated sign in page will allow access to these materials and this will only be available following the conference. Opportunities for international dissemination will be sought as well as high quality publications in internationally rated journals.
