Honouring What Sustains Us: The Active Animacy of Knowledge and Knowing

Abstract
This session will bring focus on colonial logics of relationship denial as in the way of possibilities for meaningful educational transformation. Specific attention will be given to knowledge experiments as life sustaining opportunities for knowledge and knowing to emerge in actively animate ways.

 

Bio
Dwayne Donald is a descendent of amiskwacîwiyiniwak (Beaver Hills Cree), Métis, and Norwegian ancestry. He works as a professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta. He is also a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Reimagining Teacher Education with Indigenous Wisdom Traditions.
